Herman Albert Sleeper, Jr

January 3, 1975 ~ October 11, 2025

Herman Albert Sleeper Jr. was born in Claremore Oklahoma January 3rd, 1975, to Herman Albert Sleeper Sr. and Ann Jim Sleeper. Herman Sleeper Jr. peacefully received his heavenly reward on October 11, 2025 in Tulsa, OK at St. John Medical Center.

Herman Jr. has one brother, Christopher Lee Sleeper and two sisters, Tina Ann Sleeper and Alison Williams. Herman has three sons, Braden Jack Sleeper, Connor Marques Sleeper, Jade Randolph Lookout and one daughter Elise Peters. He was a Proud member of the Osage, Choctaw, Cheyenne & Arapaho tribes.

Herman started his educational journey at Hominy HeadStart. As a Hominy Buck, he lettered in all sports, holding the record for scoring seven three-pointers in one game. He graduated Hominy High School class of 94' as loyal Hominy Buck athlete. Which led him to play baseball for Seminole State College.

After college Herman Jr. became a father to Braden Jack Sleeper, Connor Marques Sleeper, and Elise Peters. Herman was proud to be a father and grandfather and was excited for them to become Hominy Bucks. With Herman's generosity and kind heart he proudly welcomed another son & formally adopted Jade Randolph Lookout. He became most proud when his grandson Atlas Daxton Templeton was born. He started his career at the Osage Nation food distribution. Holding many working titles such as a Pawnee Nation police officer, boys & girls club leader, and lastly working for the Osage Nation Cultural Department. Herman always had great strength and athletic abilities, which led him to be a wildlife firefighter where he traveled the extensive U.S. as well.

A beloved member of the community, Herman had a deep love for sports early in life and brought the lifelong passion to Hominy when he began his coaching career. He coached little league, basketball, baseball and football from high school to elementary, devoting a lot of his time to the children in the community. He loved his community & many of them, like Tommy Hayes, became family. Whether on the sidelines, in the stands, or watching his favorite teams play, Herman's love for sports was infectious. He believed every player had potential and made it his mission to bring out the best in everyone he coached. He took great pride in his culture, teaching it in different states and giving presentations. Herman was very proud to live a sober, drug and alcohol-free life.

When Herman wasn't found in the basketball gym, baseball field, dancing around the drum in June, helping bead or create moccasins, he was found on the golf course as a Weekend Warrior. One of his fondest memories was when his boys were selected to be on ESPN College Game Day. Herman Jr. Was a great & Godly man. His heart was so big and generous that he called everyone family and treated everyone like his own. He will be truly missed by all.

Preceded in death by his father Herman Sr., maternal grandparents Emmitt and Susan Jim, paternal grandparents Crawford Sleeper and Elizabeth McCarthy, uncles Eldean Jim, Ray Jim, Lee Jim, David Jim and Donald Jim, aunts Sheirly Jim, Uncle Larry & Aunt Charlene Cozad, niece Mercedes Johnson.

He was survived by his mother Ann Jim Sleeper, children: Braden Sleeper, Elise Peters, Connor Sleeper, Jade Lookout & Jacy Gray. His brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Julie Sleeper, nieces and nephews Cheyanne, Dalani and Talan Sleeper, Abby and Caden Rush (Owasso, OK), two sisters Tina Ann Sleeper (Toppenish, Wa.) and Alison Williams (Pawnee, OK), grandson Atlas Templeton and granddaughter Hazel Ann and other numerous family and community members.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing Herman has ultimately won and received his heavenly reward. We take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that we will one day be reunited in God's kingdom.
