Alissa Raelynn Hamilton-Youngbird began her heavenly journey on Monday, February 21, 2022. On March 8, 1999, Alissa was born to Andrea Morningstar Kemble of Hominy, OK and Curtis Hamilton-Youngbird of Pawnee, OK. Her given name is NahZayZee of her Ponca heritage, which is an expression as to "how One grows beautifully." Alissa was an enrolled member of the Osage Nation as well as a descendant of the following tribal nations: Ponca, Muscogee Creek, Acoma Pueblo, Citizen Band Potawatomi, Pawnee, Otoe-Missouria, Sac and Fox, Cheyenne, Kiowa Apache, and Tonkawa. Her family would say she was our own Miss Indian Oklahoma as she represented many Oklahoma tribes.
Alissa was raised to live a traditional way of life which first and foremost included a faithful relationship with the Almighty Creator. As a young girl, Alissa was baptized in Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Hominy, OK and also a member of the Native American Church. From her faithful relationship, Alissa would excel in academics and sports that included basketball, track, tennis, participating in choir and FCCLA. Alissa graduated as a proud Hominy Buck with the Class of 2017. Alissa began her career with the Osage Nation in 2018 and continued her academia through Bacone College pursuing an education in Human Resource Management and accomplished the President's Honor Roll.
From a young age, Alissa was guided with traditional values to represent and serve her people. She is a descendent of prominent Osage leaders; NoPahWalla and Black Dog. She is also a Ponca Chieftain descendant of White Eagle and Horse Chief Eagle. She enjoyed dancing, singing, praying, cooking, fellowship and traveling throughout Indian Country. Alissa first entered the arena as a toddler cloth dancer and enjoyed dancing in jingle, fancy shawl, and buckskin. Alissa was born into a family of singers therefore she held a seat at the drum. Her singing accomplishments include singing for Pope Francis in Philadelphia, PA. Her princess reign began in 2014 by representing the Osage Nation Red Ribbon Program. This honor encouraged her to run and win the position of Osage Nation Princess in a pageant of several young Osage ladies. Alissa was honored to serve two consecutive years as the Osage Princess. After finishing her tribal princess reign, Alissa was also honored to represent as princess for the Kihekah Steh organization, which made her Eko Irene very proud, as Kihekah Steh powwow was one of Irene's favorite events.
Alissa found the love of her life in John Star Bighorse, Jr. and enjoyed her life with him. Alissa was blessed with a kind heart, compassion for all and a contagious laugh. Her favorite ways to spend her personal time was with her family and friends, or attending tribal functions, learning her tribal languages, and bossing around her brothers in the most loving way possible. Although she enjoyed many blessings and adventures, Alissa would often tell her family that her most valued treasures were the many friendships she made in her life. She loved them all and all loved her. She always did her best and, for that, her family knows she is held by her Savior Jesus Christ.
On her maternal side, Alissa is the granddaughter to Linda LaZelle of Hominy, OK and James & Sammye Kemble of Cleveland, OK. She is also the great granddaughter to the late Pete & Irene (Hamilton) LaZelle and to the late Ellsworth "Chick" & Lucy (Cornell) Kemble. On her paternal side, Alissa is the granddaughter to June and the late Don Hamilton-Youngbird. She is also the great granddaughter to the late Charlie & Velma (Peters) Smith and to the late Edward & Emma (Tah) Hamilton-Youngbird.
Alissa is survived by her parents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother, her maternal siblings Anthony, Acey, Grace, and Gabriel, her paternal siblings Donovan, Leland, June, Joseph, Caylee, Curtis, Cayden, Gordon, and Tanner, her niece Gracielynn Kemble and nephew Anthony James Kemble Jr. as well as many other grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters, and brothers.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
