Neal Edward Beattie

December 31, 1928 ~ May 21, 2012

Neal Edward Beattie, age 83 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at his residence.

Neal was born December 31, 1928 to Willie (Bill) and Leona (Keeling) Beattie at Hominy, Oklahoma. He is a long time Hominy resident. He served in the U.S. Army from January 9, 1947 to April 21, 1948.

Neal married Betty Higgins on October 21, 1948 at Pawnee, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death in 1995.

Neal worked for the Ford Dealership as a mechanic for years; mostly worked in the oilfield; as a pumper. He worked for Toby Clemishire, Charlie Pierce at Pierce Trucking Company, Producers Oil Company, and Bones Tool Company. After retiring Neal enjoyed mowing lawns, working on mowers, and vegetable gardening. Neal was a hard working man, which tried to help people, worked hard to be fair and had a good reputation. Neal was a member of the VFW of Hominy and Calvary Worship Center, Hominy.

Neal is survived by two daughters: Wanda Chambers and Karen Volkman both of Hominy, and two sons: Ralph Edward Beattie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Bobby Beattie of Dalhart, Texas; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 47 years- Betty Higgins Beattie, daughter Mary Beattie, son Randy Beattie, granddaughter Tammy Smith and one brother.

Funeral Services were Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Worship Center, Hominy with Pastor Kenny Christian officiating. Pall Bearers were Ryan Beattie, Randy Chambers, Jeffery Chambers and Jason Volkman. Interment was in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Powell Funeral Home making the arrangement.
