Cooper Lee Bassham

July 18, 1936 ~ July 6, 2021

Our little Angel, Cooper Lee Bassham, who will always be a precious gift and memory, was born on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He passed peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Cooper, the son of Cody Blake Bassham and Chelsea Ree Dailey, is Osage, Iowa of Oklahoma, Otoe-Missouri, and Cherokee Native American. He comes from a long line of Chiefs duly recognized by the United States Government.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents Cody Bassham and Chelsea Dailey; his sister Sophia Berry; paternal grandparents Eric Bassham and Dana Bassham of Norman; paternal great grandparents Bill Reynolds and Peggy Reynolds of Norman; also, maternal grandparents James Roman Dailey, Jr., and Shelly Covey both of Stillwater.

He joins in Heaven his paternal great grandparents Archie Bassham & Effie Bassham, maternal great grandparents James Roman Dailey, Sr. & Norma Osage Byrd, and Woodrow C. King & Juanita King.

He also joins his great great grandparents Joseph and Mabel Osage originally from Fairfax; Effie Logan Graham from Hominy; and James Bradley Dailey from Red Rock.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home Chapel with Father Desmond Ibeneme officiating. Cooper's dad, Blake will serve as Pallbearer. Immediately afterwards, the family will proceed in procession to the A. J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy where baby Cooper will be interred alongside his great grandmother Norma Osage Byrd, who would have loved him dearly. A potluck lunch will follow at the Hominy Community Building.
