Vella Belle Cash Shaffer Remy a resident of Henryetta passed away on February 5, 2007 in Henryetta at the age of 88. Born February 20, 1918 in Pittsburgh,Ok to Sam Finley Cash and Mabel Miller Cash. She was a home maker, a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and the Rebecca Lodge.
Vella married Byron Remy on November 24, 1990 in Henryetta.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Ray Shaffer and a brother John Finley Cash.
Survived by Husband: Byron Remy of the home,Sons: Ronald Lee Shaffer and wife Terri Lynn of Tulsa, Raymond Darrell Shaffer and wife Roberta of Ponca City, OK, Glenn Ralph Shaffer and wife Collen Rae of Stanton, MO Roger Shaffer and wife Patricia of Mesa, AZ, Robert Lynn Shaffer and wife Robin of Henryetta, David Warren Remy of Sacramento, CA. 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Service will be 10:30am, Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Joey Leal officiating.
Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Bill Taber, Andy Mahan, Don Johnson, Bill Robertson, Bob Wagner and Brad Jacobs. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandsons..
