Linda Kay Pulliam, a resident of Dewar, was born January 18, 1943 in Atlanta, Texas to Irene (Long) and John Mike Griffin, Jr. She passed away February 26, 2008 at Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years 1 month and 8 days. She was married to Jim Pulliam at Oklahoma City on August 11, 1967.

Linda taught Middle School in Muskogee and Checotah Public School Systems retiring in May of 1994 after many years of teaching. She was a longtime member of Dewar United Pentecostal Church where she along with her husband Jim, served in the capacities of church pianist and organist for many years. Linda was also a member of Kappa Kappa Iota and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She was preceded in death by her father Rev. John Mike Griffin, Jr. April 24, 1997.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Pulliam, of the home in Dewar; Her mother, Irene Griffin, Henryetta; 3 aunts, Ellen Chance & husband Rev. Glenn Chance, Monroe, Louisiana; Opal Weidner, Alexandria, Louisiana; Sue Burr & husband Medford, Mansfield, Louisiana; 2 uncles, Roy Long & wife Laura, Temple, Texas;Norwood Long, DeQuincy, Louisiana; 2 brothers-in-law, James Pulliam & wife Guandina, Dewar, Oklahoma; Richard Pulliam & wife Ann, Dewar, Oklahoma; As well as a host of friends, her beloved church family, and other relatives.

There are many that Linda considered "her family," but are too numerous to mention.

The family will greet friends at Shurden Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church officiated by Rev. Matthew Martin and assisted by Rev. Rick Fuller and Rev. Gregg Joki. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
