Services: Wednesday

Services for John M. Thompson, 79, of Henryetta will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Shurden chapel with the Rev. Larry Grissom officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson was born July 16, 1907 in Henryetta and died Sunday in Henryetta. A school custodian, he married Ruth Josephine Sherrin who preceded him in death Oct. 2, 1986.

He is survived by three sons, Ken Thompson of Austin, Texas, Charles Thompson of Austin, Texas, and Bob Thompson of Hitchita; two daughters, Wanda Stevens of Midland, Texas, and Carolyn Kelly of Enid; four sisters, Virgie Walthall of Henryetta, Bessie Seamons of Morris, Ruby Bailey of Kansas City, Kan., and Pearl Helt of Kansas City, Kan; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
