OUR UNCLE GLENN JOINED HIS SWEETHEART IN HEAVEN, LILLIAN MURRAY-SESSIONS, ON SUNDAY, JULY 16TH. 2006, IN CLAREMORE, OKLAHOMA.
THEY WERE MARRIED ON FEBRUARY 14, 1931 ON VALENTINE'S DAY, AND THEY WERE TRULY SWEETHEARTS FOR ALMOST 75 YEARS.
GLENN WAS BORN ON DECEMBER 29, 1909, TO JIM AND CALLIE SESSIONS IN HITCHITA, OKLAHOMA.
HE WAS RAISED IN HITCHITA, AND MOVED TO TULSA, WHERE HE WORKED AT NATIONAL TANK....AFTER RETIRING, THEY MOVED BACK TO HITCHITA,
WHERE THEY RAISED PRIZE VEGETABLES AND FRUIT.
THEY ALSO CONTINUED THEIR CHURCH WORK, CHARITY WORK AND SUPPORTED THE MISSIONARIES.
GLENN WAS AN AVID FISHERMAN, A CHAMPION DOMINO AND CHECKER PLAYER, A BELOVED GREAT AND GREAT-GREAT UNCLE, WHO HAD MANY OF THE YOUNG
ONES IN THEIR HOME, WHEN THEY HAD NO PLACE ELSE TO LIVE, OR, ONES THAT JUST WANTED TO SPEND A WEEK ON THE FARM, WITH UNCLE GLENN AND
AUNT LILLIAN...GOING TO BIBLE SCHOOL, FISHING, WORKING WITH HIM TH THE BROOM CORN AND PLAYING WITH THEIR FARM ANIMALS.
GLENN ENTERED THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS AT AGE 35, SERVING IN THE 5TH. AMPH. TRAC. BN. IN SAIPAN, TINIAN AND IWO JIMA, FROM 1944 TO 1945.
GLENN AND LILLIAN ENDED UP MOVING TO HENRYETTA, WHERE THEY CONTINUED CHURCH WORK, UNTIL AUNT LILLIAN'S DEATH, WHEN UNCLE GLENN MOVED INTO
THE VETERAN'S CENTER IN CLAREMORE, OKLAHOMA.
UNCLE GLENN WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE, LILLIAN, HIS FATHER, JIM SESSIONS, AND HIS MOTHER CALLIE LACKEY-SESSIONS, ONE BROTHER AND 4 SISTERS.
HE IS SURVIVED BY:ONE NEPHEW, HERMAN GLEN DEERE OF TULSA,ONE NEPHEW, JIMMY MONTAMAT OF TULSA AND ONE NEICE, JEAN MANN OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA,
13 GREAT-GREAT NEICES AND NEPHEWS AND MANY GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-NEICES AND NEPHEWS, COUSINS AND A SISTER IN LAW LOIS LANE, AND A VERY SPECIAL
SISTER IN LAW AND HIS CAREGIVER, LORA SHAW,.......... AND MANY FRIENDS.
UNCLE GLENN WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR MEMORY AND IN OUR HEARTS,FROM HIS LOVING FAMILY.
Services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Lackey Cemetery
under the direction of the Rogers Funeral. Military Honors will be provided my the U.S. Marine Corp.
