James "Jim" Richel, Sr., a resident of Morris was born July 17, 1920 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma to Geraldine Goudeau and James Richel. He passed away January 25, 2008 at Okmulgee, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years 6 months and 8 days. He was married to Julia (Rideau) Richel, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on August 1, 1959. He was a Construction. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grayson until 1986, then became a member of St. Anthony-Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 sister: Glissie Mae Straughter.

Survived by his Wife, Julia Richel, of the home 4 children, Geraldine E. DeRousselle & husband Martin, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Mary M. Stevens & husband Jeff, Plano, Texas James Richel, Jr. & wife Melissa, Morris, Oklahoma Marcus H. Richel & wife Lisa, Choteau, Oklahoma 12 Grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives

Pallbearers will be James Richel, Jr., Marcus Richel, Jeff Stevens, Martin DeRousselle, Sidney DeRousselle, and Jesse Richel.

Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2008.

Services will be held January 30, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church officiated by Father Benjamin Vima. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
