Funeral services for Orlin C. Mortenson, 65, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Parks
Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Thompson officiating. Mortenson died Dec. 28 of injuries
resulting from an automobile accident.
Mortenson was born at Northfield, North Dakota, on Jan. 21, 1921. He was married to Miss Joan Truce Osterhout at
San Diego, Calif. on Sept 26, 1943. He moved to Okemah from Solvang, California in June of 1984 and had
lived here since that time.
Mortenson was a banker for 30 years and was a retired motel owner and operator. He joined the Masonic
Lodge in 1958 and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member if the Okemah Masonic Lodge and was also
a member of the Rotary, Kiwanis, and Optimists civic clubs. He was a veteran of World War ll, having
served with the United States Navy and was a member of the Okemah American Legion Post #123. He was
also a member of the lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joan Mortenson,of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Marianna Mortenson
Riggle, Tempe, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Sobak, Edmore, North Dakota and Mrs. Mildred Tucker,
Seattle, Washington, and one grandchild
Interment was in the Beggs Cemetery in Beggs under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
