Bryan Deckard, 88, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Stan Coffey of San Jacinto Baptist Church officiating.

Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Deckard was born in Henryetta, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in the early 1920s. He was a 50-year employee of Asarco.

He was a deacon at San Jacinto Baptist Church for many years and a Mason.

He married Bessie Clanton in 1930 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Deckard, in 1996.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sammie Crow of Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Marcie Harper and Ruby Hart, both of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. They request memorials be to Craig Methodist Retirement.
