Jack T. Strahorn

August 10, 1926 - October 9, 2012

Jack T. Strahorn passed away Tuesday October 2, 2012 at the age of 86. Jack was born in Spearman, TX on August 10, 1926. He joined the Navy and served in WWII in the Pacific. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree. He received the Outstanding Alumni Award in Education from Northwestern in 1980. He later received his Master's Degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma. In 1951, he taught and coached football at Crooked Oak Schools for 17 years. In 1972 he became Assistant Superintendent at the State Department of Education in charge of Federal Programs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Strahorn; brother, Guy Strahorn Jr.; sister, Marion Chadwick; and grandson, Riley Strahorn. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, DewAnn Strahorn; two sons, Tom Strahorn & wife Stacey & their children Briana, Bailey, Shelby; Don Strahorn & his wife Lynda & their family Ryan Strahorn & wife Terri & children Carlie & Harison; Jennifer Perry & husband Jeremy & their children Emily Jaclyn Percefull & husband Clint & their children Carter, Hutch & Cooper; & Jonathan Strahorn & wife Brandy. He is also survived by sisters Joan Greenwood & husband Richard, Kathryn Boswell & husband Bill & Arlette Costner; brother Richard Strahorn & wife Terry & sister-in-law Loreen Riggs & many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 5, 2012 at Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City. Burial will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
