Ann Florence Stein

January 22, 1925 - June 16, 2010

Ann Florence Stein, 85, of Oklahoma City passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at her home. She was born January 22, 1925 during a snow storm on the family farm in Geary, Oklahoma. Ann's mother Agnes (Gates) Muse persevered hard work and long hours on the farm to raise Ann and her three siblings Faye, Fern and Leroy. After graduating high school, Ann headed to Oklahoma City where she began work for the daily newspaper. As part of the war effort, Ann traded her newspaper work for a job at Tinker AFB. It was during her time there she met and later married a Navy man from Minnesota, Walter J. Stein. Ann spent her whole life being available to others, no matter the need. This included Ann's late husband Walter; their children: Vicki Dunlap and Patty Pope; Ann's five grandchildren: Benjamin Claggett, Bradley Clagget, Tishra Claggett, Renea Nelson and Andrea Dunlap-Martinez; her three great grandchildren: Keegan and Porter Nelson and Dakota Martinez along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ann always had nice things to say about people. She even had a way of making strangers feel welcome. Ann was a firm believer in hugs and affection and had a strong faith in God. She was active in her church and when able active in her garden and working around the house. Ann was deeply loved and will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
