Gayle Clinton Spain

Gayle Clinton Spain was born to George Clinton Spain and Frances Della McCrary Spain on July 3, 1932 on his parents' farm near Fay, OK and passed away November, 20 2009, in Oklahoma City, having reached the age of 77. Gayle attended school in Fay, OK, graduating in 1950. He attended Rose State College in Midwest City, OK, earning an Associates Degree in Journalism. He married Una Morris on December 27, 1961 in Guthrie OK. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on March 13, 1953 and served two years. He went to work at Tinker Air Force Base in 1952 as a mechanic and instructor. He retired in 1987. Gayle was a member of the American Legion Post 125 in Kingfisher, OK and a member of the Masons in Del City, OK. Gayle is survived by his wife, Una Spain, of their home in Del City, OK; two sons: Nathan Blain Spain and wife Gwen of OKC, and Granger Clay Spain and wife Laura of Dallas, TX; one sister, Iris Spain Oyler and her husband, Maurice, and their son, Teddy Oyler, of Watonga, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Clinton Spain and Frances Della Spain; and one brother; Duane Charles Spain. Viewing will be held Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City, OK. Interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
