Howard Robertson

March 30, 1928 - July 1, 2016

Howard D. Robertson born March 30, 1928, to Finis and Iva (Price) Robertson, in Caney, Kansas. He is survived by his caring kind wife, Kay, as well as two children Connie Brown of Ft. Mill, SC, and Dale Robertson of St. Louis, MO, two grand-daughters, Michelle Guay of Charlotte, NC, Shawn Cunningham of Leesburg, FL. Great grand-children Sarah Tucker and Spencer Englehardt. After the death of Betty Robertson, wife of 58 years, Howard and Kay were married 12 years. With the marriage to Kay came four wonderful step children that brought Howard much love and assistance, especially in his later days. The children are; Jim Foughty (Tina), Fort. Smith, AR, Donna Smith; Norman, Buck Foughty, (Terri), Tuttle; Carla Kay Rinehart (Mark) of Oklahoma City; as well as 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Gene Anderson, Guthrie, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Howard enlisted in the Merchant Marines at age 16 and then the U.S Army at age 18. He served In the South Pacific. Howard was a WWII veteran and a 32nd degree mason. Howards career consisted of 25 years with Sears and 15 years as an owner of battery business. He loved to fish and pulled out at least a ton of crappie from Lake Thunderbird. He volunteered at the Veterans Corner in Goldsby for many years.
Howard fought a gallant battle with cancer but succumbed on July 1, 2016.
A Visitation for Howard will be Monday July 4, 2016 from 12-5pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday July 5th, 2016 at Southern Hills Baptist Church located at 8601 S. Penn in Oklahoma City with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
