Ella Elizabeth Ray

April 18, 1918 - October 15, 2012

Ella Elizabeth Ray was born April 18, 1918 to Lee and Elizabeth Whitley. Her childhood was very hard, but her neighbors took a deep interest in her and her sister's well-being which included taking them church. She was saved and baptized at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church. She married the love of her life, Harley Sr., on July 25, 1941. They welcomed a daughter, Norma Harlene born in 1943, and son, Harley Jr. born in 1949. Her family was her life. She devoted all of her time to making them feel loved and cared for. Even in her later years she would attend soccer games and karate tournaments of her great-grandchildren. She lived long enough to see 2 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren born. She loved the babies and spent many hours rocking them, Ella loved her coffee, Dr. Pepper and sweets, but never as much as she loved her family! She was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harley Ray, Sr., daughter Harlene, and sister Hallie. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harley Jr and Mary Ray, of Mustang, granddaughter and her husband, Christy and Marty Zimms, of Del City, grandson and his wife, Michael and Gloria Ray of Oklahoma City and seven great-grandchildren.
