Ronald "Ron" Kay Morris
March 24, 1931 ~ May 19, 2016
Ronald, 85, entered into his Heavenly home on Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents O.K. and Gladys Jewel Morris Lacy; his wife & high school sweetheart, Glendora Morris, who passed away in 2005. Ronald served in the Korean War as a Staff Sargent and received numerous medals of decoration during his service and before he retired from the Air Force in 1954. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked in Civil Service at Tinker AFB, in Electrical Engineering until he retired. He is credited with the creation of the “Red Switch” which was a jamming system for all communications during the Gulf War, used by General Schwarzkopf. Shortly after, he married Glendora Moore in Cooke County, Texas and at the time of her passing they had celebrated 51 years of marriage. Ronald loved his Oklahoma Sooners, had a love of cars, woodworking and electronics. After his retirement, he enjoyed photography and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his God, his church and his family. He was a longtime member of Shields Blvd Baptist Church. We can't begin to thank the wonderful staffs at Brookdale South, Bradford Village in Edmond, Integris at Edmond, and Integris Hospice. Ron leaves behind sons & daughters-in-law: Steven & Jini Morris of OKC, Kent & Denise Morris of Jenks, OK and Kevin & Gina Morris of OKC; 4 grandchildren: Matt Morris, Austin Morris, Mallori Puckett & Preston Morris. We will see you again soon! Viewing will be 4-8 PM Saturday and 12-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside services to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, May 23, 2016 at Sunny Lane Cem.
