Selena Mae Jones
August 27, 1927 - April 6, 2021
On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, heaven received another angel, Selena M. Jones, passed away at age 93.
Selena was born on August 27, 1927 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to George and Lindsey Jackson. She attended Carter Indian Boarding School in Ardmore and graduated from Ravia High School. She married Robert Jr. (Bob) Jones in 1948 and had three children, Robert Jr. (Bobby), Clifford, and Sharon. They were married for 52 years before his death in 2000. They attended the Del City First Church of the Nazarene where Selena taught Sunday school for many years. They loved to travel and did many trips with their friends from church. She worked in the home doing babysitting and ironing while her children were young then went to work for the city of Oklahoma City where she retired. She then worked as a manager for Nuway Laundry in Midwest City. Selena loved to read and play Skip-Bo. She loved her family and made each one feel special. She was a true woman of God. If anyone ever needed a prayer we all knew who to call. She will be missed.
Selena was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, grandson, Clifford Jones II, sisters Daisy Conrad, Lela Paschal, Mildred Price, Minerva Hawkins, Jean Severns, and brothers, Jack Jackson, Geronimo Jackson, and Floyd Jackson.
Selena is survived by her three children, Bobby (Rita), Clifford (Alberta), and Sharon Washburn (Kent); grandchildren, Jerry Washburn (Amber), Chris Jones (Nichol), Krystal Ross (Joe Bob), Anthony Jones, Damon Jones, Ben Jones (Brittany); along with great-grandchildren, Connor Jones, Brennah Wilson, Catherine Jones, Robert Jones, Kohl Washburn, Tatum Washburn, Maxwell Washburn, Shelby Jones, Sophia Jones, Sydney Ross, Lilly Ross, Anthony Jones Jr., Emily Jones, Georgia Jones, Deacon Jones; and two great great-grandchildren, Emmelyn Washburn and Athena Persales; Sister, Davalyn Long; brothers, John Jackson (Delphine), and Jim Jackson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at the Del City First Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK.
