Connie Sue Haynes

April 4, 1955 - April 28, 2012

Connie S. (Shilling) Haynes was born to Elmer and Wilma Shilling in OKC April 4, 1955 and departed this life April 28, 2012 at the age of 57 after a lengthy illness. Connie grew up in Del City and graduated from Del City High School. She was employed at Tinker AFB, until her retirement in 1994. Connie was a devoted daughter, when her mother became ill, Connie took her into our home and cared for her until her passing in 2001. Connie was a loving wife, doting mother and faithful friend, with an infectious laugh and caring heart. She is going to be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know her. Connie is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Survivors include her husband Ernie of the home, two daughters, Carrie Towery and her husband Travis of Newcastle, OK, Nikki Lee and her husband Bryan of Norman, OK, four grandchildren, Peyton and Devyn Towery and Brandon and Brianne Lee, one brother Steve Shilling and wife Teri, niece Amanda & nephew Bennett of Atlanta Ga., numerous relatives and friends. Heartfelt thanks to nurses Jan Hill, Shannon Wiebusch, Erica Freeman and aide Gwen Brown, (Gwen and Connie had a special bond) Angela Lewis and Chaplain Danny Daniels of Life Care Hospice of Norman, OK for their excellent care and attendance to Connie during the last months of her life. Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May, 2, 2012 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home with burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
