Ruth Mary Griffin

January 14, 1931 - July 20, 2013

Griffin, Ruth Mary - passed away on July 20, 2013 in Midwest City, OK. She was one of nine siblings, born on January 14, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, to Fred and Myrtle Dannecker. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Jack Lee Griffin, for 62 years. He was the love of her life, business partner and best friend. When we lost "Papa" two years ago we weren't sure how she'd even go on. They were quite the pair. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't talk about him and long to be with him again. But she persevered. Not that we ever doubted her strong will and determination - attributes that formed the very essence of her being. Also, she instilled attributes in all of us that have propelled us forward in our own lives and endeavors. She was small but mighty. She often referred to by Papa as "dynamite" since it too came in small packages. She ran the office and a household full of grandchildren with ease - always making sure we had full bellies, nice clothes, and good guidance. Thank you - for providing, for loving, for caring, and for giving us such a strong example of what an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and entrepreneur should be. We will miss you so much, "Gangan." But we know you are dancing in the streets made of gold with our Papa waiting to welcome us home someday. She is survived and loved by her daughter; Deborah Lee Ellis, her grandchildren; Matt and Jayme Chenevey, Jayson and Natalie Bell, and Jaclyn Bell and great-grandchild; Madeline Lucille Bell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10:00am at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home with interment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
