E.J. Gilbert Jr. was born on October 13, 1924 in Mexia, Texas to E.J. Gilbert and Minnie N. Hill. He passed away on January 10, 2019 at the age of 94. A graduate of Crooked Oak High School, E.J. served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943-1946. E.J. attained a BS in Business from Oklahoma City University in 1958, and worked as a logistics specialist at Tinker Air Force Base until he retired in 1974. He is survived by his daughter Gale and her husband, Pete; son Russell and his wife, Patricia; daughter Sandra; sister-in-law Joyce Castor and her husband, Jim; grandchildren Darius Dills and his wife, Meredith; Kristen Richardson; Katie Wright and her husband, Jared; Phillip Richardson; Melissa Flaum and her husband, Jeremy; Felicia Thompson; Mandy Shields and her husband, Richard; Amy Boone and her husband, Michael; Sophia Morren; Shermie Potts and her husband, Steve; 14 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews - all of whom he loved dearly. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2pm-4pm at Ford Funeral Service.
