Delbert John Gensler

Delbert John Gensler passed away peacefully on January 23, 2006 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on August 22, 1930 in Okeene, Oklahoma to John and Selma Gensler.
Mr. Gensler proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as boatswain's mate on the USS Whetstone (LSD 27) during the Korean Conflict.
He married the love of his life, Nina Stiles, while home on leave on December 31, 1951. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Gensler was a printer by trade, and taught Graphic Arts at the Mid-Del Vo-Tech until his retirement.
Mr. Gensler loved the outdoors. He shared his love of fishing and camping not only with his family, but also with his community as Boy Scout Leader for VFW Post 9969's Troop 51 for many years.
Mr. Gensler is survived by his wife, Nina Gensler, Midwest City; his brother, Delwin Lee Gensler and wife Joyce, Tulsa; his children, Mike Gensler and fiancé Brenda, Del City; Tammy O'Quinn and husband David, Moore; Cindy Crabb, Midwest City; Linda Kaufmann and husband Michael, Norman; and grandchildren B.J. Howard, John Gensler, Jeremy Gibson, Jessica O'Quinn, Carrie O'Quinn, Matthew Kaufmann, and Lauren Kaufmann, who will all miss going fishing with their Grandpa and listening to his silly stories.
Mr. Gensler's family wishes to thank Hospice Quality Care for their immense kindness and compassion, particularly his nurse Treba Monteforte, and his aid and 'fishing buddy' Rob Anderson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel on 29th Street in Del City. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery
