William Jarrell Estes

William Jarrell was born June 24, 1930 in Ardmore, OK and passed away peacefully in his home on September 25, 2003. In 1947, Bill served his country by joining the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1950, attaining the rank of Corporal. In 1949, he married his wife of 54 years, Earlene Van Buskirk. Bill worked at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring in 1974. He then worked in real estate where he was named President of the Board of Realtors and Realtor of the Year. After retiring from real estate in 1995, he enjoyed going to the lake with his close friends, golfing, woodworking and spending time with his friends and family, including his dog, Misty. Bill had always been an active member of the community, participating in many of his children's activities. He participated in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters and Demolay. His exceptional leadership skills lead him to earn the title of Demolay Dad of the Year and Ritual Advisor for the State of Oklahoma. Bill was also a 32nd Degree Mason. Bill also was a member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church where he was a youth director and more recently attended Douglas Boulevard Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Earlene Estes , three children: Steve Estes , Sandy Younger and spouse, and Susan Collins; 5 grandchildren: Bill Lowry & spouse, Jennifer Collins, Kari Collins, Tina Younger and Matthew Collins; and one great grandchild, Jayden Younger. Bill will be thought of every day by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Ford Funeral Service, Friday, September 26th from 6 pm to 8 pm and funeral services will be held at Douglas Boulevard Methodist Church Sat., September 27th at 1 pm.
