Ruby Estes

Ruby Estes, resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her home on Jun 9, 2017. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10am at Ford Funeral Service, Candlewood Chapel in Midwest City. Burial will be held at Sunnylane Cemetery. Ruby was born February 8, 1930 in Ringling, OK to Earl and Ruby (Lyles) Van Buskirk. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School. She married William J. Estes on March 6, 1949. Ruby worked for DHS for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed going to rummage sales, cooking for her grandkids and spending time with family. She spent a great deal of time volunteering with her church by helping to provide meals on Fridays. Additionally, she was an avid OKC Thunder fan. Ruby will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband William J. Estes, parents Ruby & Earl Van Buskirk, brothers; R.E., J.C., G.H., and Edward Van Buskirk. She is survived by her daughters Susan Collins of Choctaw and Sandra Younger and her husband Cecil of Del City; her son Steve Estes of Edmond; sister, Cordelia Borden and her husband Bill of Antlers, and by her grandchildren William Lowry and his wife Laura of Nashville and their sons Weston and Ian Lowry, Jennifer Cashes and her husband Joey of Moore and their daughters Lillian and Isabelle Cashes, Kari McCarthy and her husband Jake of Harrah and their son and daughter Jett and Bekalynn McCarthy, Matthew Collins of Choctaw and Tina Younger of Del City and her sons Jayden, Anthony, Hunter, Daylen Younger. Viewing will be held Sunday, June 11, 2017 from noon to 6pm and Monday, June 12, 2017 from 9am to 8pm. Visitation with family will be June 12th from 5 -7 pm.
