Brooke Eike

November 19, 1973 - March 13, 2020

Brooke Lynn Eike was born on November 19, 1973 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The daughter of Darrel Duane Eike and Billie Lanora Eike, Brooke loved to play outside when she was a young child. Seldom was there a day when you didn't catch her playing with her basketballs and soccer balls or riding her bicycle. Brooke was a happy and loving child.
As Brooke grew older her passion for music blossomed. Brooke enjoyed listening to her large collection of CDs in her bedroom. Her musical tastes spanned from pop to R&B to country. She relished the opportunity to go to concerts which included George Strait, Cher, Shania Twain, and Prince.
Brooke loved school and the many relationships she built with classmates. Brooke loved everyone she met. Her heart had no bounds.
After graduating from Carl Albert High School in 1998, Brooke would go on to live at the Mid Del Group Home where she loved and was loved by other residents and staff. She loved going to the many group activities at the home like going out to the movies and attending the annual Bar-B-Que.
Brooke worked at the Mid Del Work Center for over 22 years. She was always very excited when her work anniversary came around and was very proud to tell everyone about it.
Brooke had the uncanny ability to remember dates - dates of special events and birthdays. If she knew your birthday then you were most likely to receive a phone call on your special day. Brooke had a way of making you feel special at all times.
Schedules were very important to Brooke. Twelve o'clock was lunch time and six o'clock was dinner. If you told Brooke you were going to do something her response was, "What time?"
"I'm going to come visit you tomorrow, Brooke."
"What time?"
"I'll take you out to go shopping sometime, Brooke."
"When?"
"Maybe next Tuesday."
"What time?"
Brooke loved her family. After her mom passed away, and Brooke moved into the group home she made a point of calling her dad every night, without fail, for more than 21 years. She bragged up her brother to casual acquaintances. She enjoyed seeing her family in western Oklahoma during Christmas and Thanksgiving. She loved her niece and sister-in-law. Brooke was the perfect aunt, niece, cousin, sister, and daughter - always caring and eager to please.
Brooke is with her mother now. In so many ways they were alike - caring and compassionate, giving and sharing, friendly and loyal. They were both beautiful souls - gone too soon.
Viewing will be come-and-go prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 9am. A service celebrating Brooke's life will be at 2pm on Tuesday, March 17th in Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City. Due to the current health situation, the Eike family encourages friends and family to use their own discretion on attendance.
