William Earl Davis
October 12, 1932 - January 23, 2019
William Earl (Bill) Davis left this earth to join his wife Clo Ann to be with their heavenly Father in the early morning of January 23rd, 2019. Bill was born October 12, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George Ernest and Lena (Fields) Davis. He grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma graduating from Midwest City High School in 1951. Bill loved school where he played football and excelled in Future Farmers of America. The story he told is that he had to sell one of his prize cows to buy clothes for his senior prom.
Upon Graduation from high school Bill enrolled in OSU (then named Oklahoma A and M) with the intent of studying agriculture but a notice came from the draft board just before he finished his first year. Bill then joined the Navy where he learned his skill and love of doing sheet metal. This was to be his occupation for life.
Bill met the love of his life in grade school, Clo Ann Kane and they started (sort-of) dating when she was 13 and he was 15. Clo had moved from Midwest City to Choctaw by this time so, Bill would ride his horse the 12 or so miles to visit her hiding his horse around behind the house so that her older brothers would not kid him about liking their little sister. Bill and Clo were married November 19, 1952. They were married 59 years before Cloe died in 2011.
Bill and Clo were never able to have children but they truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. They loved to travel and tried to see as much of America as possible. They were both (died in the wool) OU fans and if possible never missed a ball game. They held season tickets since 1958.
Bill was a Christian man and loved church and working for his church. He was a Deacon, did Awanas for several years, worked with RA's and loved and taught Sunday School. Even after his Alzheimer's was progressing Bill continued to go to church. Bill was a kind man and loved doing activities with his many nieces and nephews. Just ask them about the boat he built so they could enjoy the lakes.
When Bill's earthly life ended on January 23rd he left behind one sister, Georgia Blackwell of Smithville, Oklahoma. He also left behind many nieces and nephews and lots of good friends.
Bill will be greatly missed. His family wishes to thank all the many friends and family for prayers, words of comfort, notes, cards and flowers that have been given.
