Our amazingly beautiful and precious 87-year-old mother flew away to Jesus and my father at 6:15 last evening. It was a beautiful experience and our family is so thankful to have been with her to witness her peaceful transition to Heaven. Our Mother was a Proverbs 31 woman. She kept a beautiful home, had impeccable taste and grace and fiercely loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. However, she has sorely missed our father every day of their 6 month, 2 day separation. Our Mother will be missed but we are overjoyed that she is well again and walking those streets of gold. Greater than our sorrow is our anticipation of being reunited with our Mom and our darling father someday. Maureen was born August 1, 1932 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Orbon and Alva Bellamy. Maureen was one of 5 children. The Bellamy's later moved to Oklahoma City where she attended school. Maureen met her future husband R.L. Collier at an Oklahoma City radio station when he was singing and playing guitar and she her violin. They married in 1948 and moved to Dallas where they attended Dallas Theological Seminary. The two also traveled as a part of J.C. Hibbard's evangelical team until R.L. was called to serve in the Air Force. Maureen was a skilled seamstress, gardener, cook and she made ceramics. Maureen and R.L. enjoyed the outdoors and often camped with their family at the lake. They also made many trips to the mountains and enjoyed the scenery and wildlife while making lasting memories with their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 71 years R.L. Collier, 2 Brothers, Walter and Dan Bellamy, and 2 sisters Betty Parrish and Barbara Bond. She is survived and will be greatly missed by daughters, Cheryl Giddens and husband Robert and Dawn Borelli and husband Michael, grandsons, Adam Giddens and wife Molly and Zach Giddens and wife Ashley, great-grandchildren, Liam, Brooks and Cora Giddens, step-granddaughters, Tiffan and husband Ross Urken, Crystal Borelli and Brittany Borelli, brother-in-law Danny Collier & wife Gail, 2 Sisters in law, Norma and Beverly Bellamy, as well as many extended family members and friends.
