Thelma Faye (Lankford) Coker

June 2, 1941 ~ August 2, 2016

Thelma Faye (Lankford) Coker was born June 2, 1941 in Shamrock, Texas to Clarence and Mattie (Shipley) Lankford. She passed away in Chandler on August 2, 2016 at the age of 75. Faye's family was the center of her life and she loved spending time having fun with her grandchildren. She was a faithful Christian woman and long-time member of the Harrah Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, painting and flower gardening. As spoken by her grandson, "she always had your back." Faye will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.D. Lankford, Gene Lankford, Billy Jack Lankford; sisters, Betty Wallin, and Bonnie Carroll. Survivors include Faye's husband, of almost 53 years, Jim Coker of the home; children, Debbie Williams of Chandler, Chuck and his wife, Alice Coker of Choctaw, Brenda Stroup of Moore, Lorrie and her husband, David Lockhart of Norman, Rod and his wife, Debbie Coker of Chandler; sisters, Velma James of Mustang, and Mary Keiffer of Kellyville; (11) grandchildren; (21) great-grandchildren and (2) on the way; along with other family and friends. The family would like to thank Mercy Home Health for all of their loving care of Faye during her illness.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Sunnylane Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
