Lucy Arlene Baird Clopton

August 26, 1926 - December 28, 2016

Lucy Arlene Clopton, 90, entered Heaven's gate on December 28, 2016. She was born on August 26, 1926 in Dill City, OK to John Milton and Nora Martha (Price) Baird. She grew up north of Gotebo on a farm and attended Lake Valley School. Lucy married Ray Clopton February 10, 1946 in Lawton, OK.
Lucy was a faithful Christian and member of the Del City Church of Christ. She loved all people, especially her family and friends. Lucy's life was a special gift of love to the world.
Lucy was preceded in death by Ray Clopton, her loving husband of 65 years; Gary's first wife Marian Mote Clopton, mother of Mark and Elise; brothers Dee, Ross, Mack, George, Roy, and Troy (all Bairds); and sisters Winnie Price, Bess Holcomb, Wanzalee Botchlet, Evelyn Rose, Troleta Baird and step-grandson, Joshua Harlin. Survivors include her two sons; Gary Clopton and wife, Reta, and Roger Clopton; grand-daughter, Elise Sherrod and husband, Nash; grandson, Mark Clopton and wife, Marian, parents of beloved great-grandchildren, Rex and Faye Clopton; and step-great-grandson, Corvin Harlin. Numerous nephews and nieces, especially nieces, Teresa Covington, Gay Tagliavore, Melba Taliafero, Charlene King, and WinnieAnn Redwine and nephew, Philip Horton. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. Special thanks go to the staff at Wellington Parke Living Center, Bradford Village long term care in Edmond and Physician's Choice Hospice. Friends Dutch and Ann Schneider and Jim and Jean Dyche also get special thanks.
Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
