Lee Capps

November 24, 1952 - March 29, 2021

Lee Capps, age 68 of Okla. City, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, March 29, 2021. Robert Leland Capps was born November 24, 1952 in Okla. City, the baby of 5 children born to Robert Edmund Capps and Laura Sue (Hicks) Capps. He spent his early years in Tuttle, only to return to the City where he graduated from Capitol Hill High School with the Redskins Class of 1971. From there it was on to Central State University. At the time, Lee was working for Sears. By chance, he met a young woman named Billie Shelton, and they were the perfect couple. Lee followed his heart and asked her to marry him, and on February 23, 1973, Lee and Billie were married in Okla. City. Together they raised two children, son Joey and daughter Cara. Lee worked in real estate for many years, and owned and operated his company, Capps Appraisal Company, for more than 33 years. Lee followed his heart once more, and retired in 2010. Retirement didn't last long and he soon started working as a custodian for Moore Public Schools. He loved the kids, and they returned that love, and Lee was very happy. He was currently working at Red Oak Elementary. Lee cherished Billie, his kids and he was never happier than the day he became a "PaPa" to Keagan, Kashton, Kypton and Kymber. He never missed a game, recital or contest at school, and he looked forward to his "PaPa" days. Lee was a man of great faith, and a longtime and faithful member of the Westmoore Community Church. And because Lee followed his heart many years ago, and surrendered his life to Christ, we can celebrate his life, even in our sadness. He was a fun loving, tender hearted and loveable. A good husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Laura Capps his sister, Mary Jo Woods, and his brother Ed Capps.
Lee is survived by: his wife, Billie of the home; son Joey Capps and wife Penny of Moore; daughter, Cara Kenmore and husband Todd of Okla. City; sisters, Robby Williams of Tuttle and Millie Guthrey and husband Tommy of Corpus Christi, TX; his pride and joy; his grandchildren, Keagan, Kashton, Kypton and Kymber and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 2, 2021, at Westmoore Community Church. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Send online condolence @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
