David Gerald Batten, Sr.

February 18, 1937 - January 17, 2017

David Gerald Batten, Sr., 79, passed away on January 17, 2017 in Del City, OK. He was born on February 18, 1937 in Oklahoma City, OK to David Fletcher and Gladys Irene (Barber) Batten.
He worked as a Fork Lift Operator for Scrivner Food Distributers, later known as Fleming Industries. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 886 and will forever be known for his generosity and honest to a fault personality. Dave was a hardworking man all of his life, instilling this trait in his children. He enjoyed watching sports, gameshows, and spending time with his beloved family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Kenneth Wright and Kathrena Hogue; great-granddaughter, Zorah Wright. Survivors include his loving wife, Minnie; children, David G. Batten, Jr. (Lisa), Danny G. Batten (Sharon), Kenneth Wright (Tiffany) Pam Wright, Raymond Wright, and Jeffrey Batten; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Imogene "Jeanie" Tedder (Don) and Helen Morgan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
