Joan Hicks Barton

12 5 1933 - 3 8 2007

JOAN H. BARTON, 73, lived in Del City, OK. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK to George and Clara Hicks. Joan dropped out of school in 1947 in order to work to assist her mother in supporting her brothers and sisters. In June of 1968, Joan was awarded, through the General Educational Development Tests, a certificate of high school equivalency.
She worked as a payroll clerk at Tinker AFB from 1964 until 1979. In 1981, she went to work as a payroll clerk at FAA, from which she retired in 1994.
She married Billy C. Barton on January 26, 1952.
Preceded in death by one son, Terry Barton.
Survived by husband, Billy C. Barton, Sr.; children: Sharon Fisher and husband, Tom, OKC; Billy, Jr. Barton, and wife, Gayla, Wayne, OK, and Keith Barton, Stillwater; grandchildren: Angela, Brad, Joshua, Cori and Billy, III, Dusti, Sommer and Zachary, and Joshuah, Bridgette, Brittany and Jacob; great-grandchildren: Gage, Skylah, Shelby, Jordan, Mackynzee, Chance, Thomas, Hunter and Conner.
Services: Conducted by Ford Funeral Service on Monday, March 12, 2007 at Candlewood Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
