Jill Ann Abernathy

May 14, 1942 - July 14, 2013

JILL ANN ABERNATHY, wife, mother, nannie & sister, was born May 14, 1942 to John and Mary Whyatt. The Lord received into his care, our most precious angel, on Sunday, July 14, 2013. She left us peacefully, with family surrounding her. She touched many lives, in such a positive way, that will never be forgotten. She loved unconditionally and was always there for everyone. She was a champion to all; her wisdom and guidance will be forever missed. Most of her life was dedicated to her family, as a stay at home mom. Along with raising her own five children, she was entrusted with the care of children from other families; watching them while their parents worked. She was an important part in her grandkids and great-grand kids lives, helping to raise them, as well. After her children were grown she worked for the Exchange club, an organization that helped at risk parents learn to care for their children, find work and helped with getting them back in school. If there is one word to describe her it is LOVE! You could come to her with any problem & no matter how big or small, she would hold you and let you know it would all work out. She let everyone know how special and important they were to her. She leaves behind a void that no one will ever be able to fill. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bud Abernathy. Her children: daughters, Lisa Posey & Julie Auderer. Sons, Mike, Jim & Steve Abernathy & Jonathan Whyatt. Son-in-law Joe Auderer & daughters-in-law, Chellie, Debbie & Melissa. Grand-children Rachel & her spouse Eric Haskins, Jessica, Joshua and Ryan Posey, Payton, Kaylee, Taetum and Malorie Abernathy; Hunter Noland & Garret Whyatt. Great-grand children Faith, Christian & Abigail Grace Haskins; Gavin and Amia Mosby. She also leaves behind numerous brothers and sisters, who she was very close with. Joan & Warren Pierce, John & Sharon Whyatt, Mary & Tom Powers, Sue & Gary Lindsay, Kathy & Greg Benefield, Pat Whyatt, Margaret & Albert Sebastian, Chris Whyatt & her brother Jim Whyatt, who preceded her in death. If she was able, she would tell each and every one of us, to love one another; treat those around you with kindness and to forgive and forget, because in the end, all that matters, is the love you hold for one another. She chose to see only the goodness in the world, and would want us all to do the same. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name, along with the name of her grand-daughter, Malorie Abernathy, to Ally's House. Graveside services for Jill will be held at 10am, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, Oklahoma.
