HOMER COLEMAN JOHNSON, was born on December 20, 1888 in Clarksville, Red River County, TX, the son of Wiley Elijah and Virginia Lee 'Smith' Johnson. Around 1899 or 1900, when he was 11 or 12 years old, the family moved to the town of Antlers, in Indian Territory (OK).
Homer was married twice, first on March 28, 1909 in Antlers, to Claudia Raley. They had four children: Homer Coleman Jr.; Harry Lincoln; Virginia Lee; and Raymond, all deceased. On February 13, 1932 he was married a second time to Alberta Maude Parker, daughter of Albert and Maude Parker. Homer and Alberta lived their entire lives in Oklahoma City where they raised eight children; Thomas Coleman; Richard Wiley; Michael R.; Sandra Jean; Dennis Lee; Jerry Franklin; Nancy Sue; and Theodore Joseph.
Homer Coleman Johnson died in Oklahoma City, OK on December 23, 1975. He is buried in Memorial Park Cemeter, in Oklahoma City.

Homer Coleman Johnson, 87, of 2922 SW 18, died today at his home following a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Guardian Midtown Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Johnson was born in Paris, Tex. He moved to Antlers in the early 1900's and to Oklahoma City in 1922. He had been manager of the shoe department for 45 years at Peyton Marcus. He was a Baptist.
He was the father of Thomas C. Johnson, an employee in the composing room at The Oklahoma Publishing Co. Survivors include his wife, Alberta M. of the home; six sons, Thomas C.; Richard W.; Michael R.; Dennis L. and Jerry F., all of Oklahoma City, and Theodore of the home; and two daughters, Sandra J. Laxson, and Nancy S. Dickerson of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Malona Carlisle, Antlers, and Myrtle Watson, Deactur, Ga.; and 25 grandchildren.
