Ewing Cemetery is located on Wilshire Blvd. 0.2 miles west of the intersection of Spencer-Jones Rd. and Wilshire Blvd. From Oklahoma City, take I-35 north to NE 63rd St. {exit 132B}. When taking this exit, you will be on Bryant Ave. Continue straight ahead for about 0.4 miles to NE 63rd St. {traffic light}. Turn right {east} and go 5.75 miles to Spencer-Jones Rd. which crosses NE 63rd St. at an angle from SW to NE. Turn left {northeast} and go 1.7 miles to E. Wilshire Blvd. Turn left {west} 0.2 miles across the railroad tracks. The cemetery will be on the right {north} side of the road. You must use the entrance to Oaklawn Memorial Gardens and take the lane to the right until you pass through Oaklawn and into the Ewing Cemetery.
Ewing Cemetery goes back before statehood and started out as a family burial plot. There was a school by that same name. It had been an all black cemetery before Don and Jean Crutchfield purchased the land in 1973. At present in 2004 it is not kept up, the families perhaps have all moved away. This cemetery is a striking contrast to the well kept Oaklawn Cemetery. {Information obtained from OK County Cemetery Index - compiled by OK County HCE Genealogy Group, page 31.}
