Flavious Comodore "Flay" Willoughby

March 18, 1915 - August 17, 2000

Willoughby, Flavious Comodore "Flay" passed away August 17, 2000 at Integrated Health Services of Midwest City.
He was born March 18, 1915 in McLoud, OK to Benjamin and Leota Maxwell Willoughby. He married Betty Raglin Willoughby on April 20, 1946. She predeceased him on September 4, 1974.
His parents, four brothers and two sisters also predeceased him.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Taylor Willoughby of Moore, OK who he married on August 12, 1975. He is also survived by four daughters and their spouses, Ruth and Art Schwab of Midwest City, Ruby and Roy Wile of Tulsa, Rebecca and David Blue of Del City and Judi and Bill Thomas of Chickasha; two stepsons and their wives Steve and Ginny Taylor of Oklahoma City and Phil and Ann Taylor of Norman; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses Jennifer and Kyle Kirkpatrick of Lawton, Jason, Stephanie, Sarah and Casey Heald of Midwest City, Bryan, Corey and Dallas Schwab of Norman, Andrew and Shari Wile of Tulsa, Adam Wile of Midwest City, Jimmy and Stacy Blue of Chickasha, Jeremy and Laurie Blue of Chickasha, Joshua and Melodie Blue of Oklahoma City, Tyler and Erica Thomas of Chickasha; five great-grandchildren Samantha and Stephen Blue and Jake and Zoe Blue all of Chickasha, and Ashton Heald of Del City; four sisters Ola Westbrook, Edna Schaapveld, and Mina Klemme, all of Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Nelson of Arkansas; and numerous devoted nieces and nephews and friends.
Mr. Willoughby was a member of Regency Park Baptist Church of Moore.
He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and later graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX.
He was self-employed as a tile contractor for many years in the Oklahoma City area.
He was the Music Minister at Cass Heights Baptist Church near Choctaw and at Del View Baptist Church in Del City until his retirement. He moved to Lake Texoma in 1975 and then to Moore in 1995.
He will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
Services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home in Del City at 10:00 a.m. on August 21, 2000. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Hospice of Midwest City, LLC, 7301 N. Broadway, Ste. 210, OKC, 73116. Visiting will be allowed until 9:45 a.m. on Monday.
