Edna Louise Truelove

Edna Louise Truelove went to be with her Lord and Savior January 19, 2009 in Oklahoma City at the age of 68 years 8 months 26 days. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City under the direction of Wadley's Funeral Service . Edna was born April 24, 1940 in Paris, Arkansas. She moved to Oklahoma in 1948 with her parents, Mattie and Robert Dycus. Edna was raised in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from Southwest High School in 1958. She then continued her education by attending Oklahoma City Vocational Nursing School and graduating as an LPN in 1967. Also that year, she and Darriel Ray Truelove were united in marriage. Edna was a devoted nurse, working for over 30 years at Presbyterian Hospital. After leaving Presbyterian, she worked over 15 years for Southwest Medical Center and also Jim Thorpe Rehab where she retired in 2005. Edna enjoyed reading western and romance novels as well as watching westerns on television. She was of the Baptist faith and was an active member of the Jefferson Heights Baptist Church for many years. Edna's favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, visiting Arkansas. Edna was an avid Elvis fan, and enjoyed a trip when she and the girls took a trip to Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Edna is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Mae in 1990, and her husband, Darriel in 1997. Survivors include her father, Robert Dycus; siblings, Richard Dycus and Joyce, Loretta Walton, and Bobby Dycus, all of Oklahoma City; nieces, Donna Christine Cagle and son, Caleb of Bethany, Debbie Jordan and Kenny of Ardmore, Kristy Dycus of Oklahoma City; nephews, Jon Walton and Tara, Troy Dycus and Angie, all of Moore, Robert Wayne Dycus of Oklahoma City; many other great nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her. Donations may be made in her name to the Quality of Life Hospice in Oklahoma City.
