Jesse E. "Gene" Thompson of Little Axe, Ok passed from this life December 20, 2011. Gene was born April 6th, 1934 to Raymond and Marion Thompson in Vincennes, IN. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in Indiana, France, Germany and Oklahoma. He reached the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and was the aide to General David Jones, who later became Chief of Staff of the Air Force. After retiring from Tinker AFB in 1974, he continued to serve his comrades through the American Legion Post 170. He was a Notre Dame, Indiana Hoosier and Dallas Cowboy fan. He left us with many fond memories and good stories from his boating, fishing and camping adventures. His favorite thing was being at his property sitting on the deck entertaining his family and friends. He was a long time member of the American Legion, 40&8 and was a 32nd degree Mason. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and sister. He is survived by wife Linda, daughters Cathy, Jamie, Leann and Emily, son Tony and daughter-in law Paula; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and Queenie (his 4 legged best friend).
