Norma Ruth Tawwater

TAWWATER, Norma Ruth (Guy) was born July 21, 1921 in Paris, TX to V.H. and Minnie (Alter) Guy. She died March 15, 1999 in Midwest City. Norma grew up in a newspaper family and helped her father publish the Eldorado Courier and later the Blair Enterprise. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1940 and on June 21, 1941, she married S.N. Tawwater, Jr. in San Antonio, TX. During WWII, while her husband was on duty overseas, she worked for Dunn & Bradstreet and the War Department in San Antonio. She and Sim moved to Midwest City in 1946 where they were both employed at Tinker AFB. Norma was a member of the Officers Wives Club at Tinker AFB, PEO Chapter EI, Wickline United Methodist Church and the Neighborhood Sewing Club. She is survived by her husband Sim, her son Larry and his wife Melanie, her grandsons Darren and Ryan, her sisters: Rosemary Hankins and her husband Vern of Vigo Park, TX; and Kathryn Ferguson of Midwest City; her brothers: Virgil Guy and his wife Jackie of San Antonio, TX; Bill Guy and his wife, Purna of Haskell; Don Guy and his wife, Sandy of Chickasha; Bob Guy and his wife Sue of Portland, OR; sisters-in-law: Wana Richardson of Childress, TX and Bettye Ellis and her husband Vernon of Quanah, TX; and Wilma Swindell of Quanah, TX; and her brothers-in-law: W.L. Tawwater and his wife Dorothy of Plainview, TX; Bill Tawwater and his wife, Elfie, of Largo, FL; and Elmer Kelly of Lubbock, TX. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her sister Virginia, brother Franklin and son Mike. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wickline United Methodist Church with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens. Bill Eisenhour Funeral Homes (Northeast)
