Merle Taft

March 28, 1924 - October 26, 2009

Merle Taft, 85, of Choctaw, OK passed away October 26, 2009 at Integris Southwest Medical Center. Born March 28, 1924 in Cabaniss, OK to Hardy and Janese Crosswell. Being a nurse for 30 plus years, she aided to many patients including cancer patients and enjoyed working as a private duty nurse. Merle is preceded in death by her parents, children's father, Troy Richardson, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters. Merle is survived by her husband of 29 years, James R. Taft of the home, daughters, Linda Murphy of OKC, Sandy Keen of OKC, Jan Nokes of Edmond, 3 step children, 6 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Merle was a great giving, loving mother and her memories will be cherished forever. Services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
