Thomas Eugene Sweet

Thomas Eugene "Gene" passed away June 2, 2004 in Midwest City, OK. He was born on June 3, 1915 to James and Rebecca (Sanders) Sweet in Gainesville, MO. Gene was discharged from the U.S. Naval Service February 26, 1946. He retired from Sneed's Nursery after 34 years of service in the commercial nursery industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George, and sisters Elsie Christie and Elizabeth Taylor. Gene is survived by his wife, Beverley Joan of the home; the mother of his children, Josephine Sweet; his daughters, Patricia Philliber, Rita Aguilera, Rebecca Viney, and son, James Thomas; his brothers, Edgar, Oliver and Alva; his sister Beatrice Agee; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rebecca Sanders Sweet Scholarship Fund. Checks may be made to PSU Foundation, 401 E. Ford, Pittsburg, KS, 66762. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Bill Eisenhour NE Chapel with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
