Peggy Joyce Stramp

February 4, 1929 - November 25, 2013

Peggy J. Stramp, 84, of Midwest City died on Friday, November 22, 2013. Peggy was born February 4, 1929, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Viola and Fred Wegmiller. She married Robert J. Stramp on August 11, 1950, in Enid. During the early years of marriage, Peggy and Bob lived in Texas, Hawaii, Guam, Massachusetts, Alabama, Colorado, and New Mexico, before returning to Oklahoma. In 1997, Peggy retired after a 30-year career as secretary at Soldier Creek Elementary School. Peggy was an avid reader and shared her love of literature through treasured gifts of books to family and friends. Her special talents included crafting handmade cards and origami gift boxes for many occasions and providing emotional support to her friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include children: Ryan Stramp and his wife Martha of Anchorage, AK, Barry Stramp of Norman, Cindy Treadway and her husband David of Edmond; grandchildren: Nicholas Stramp and his wife Ashley of Lynnwood, WA, Robin Stramp of Northfield, MN, Paden Treadway and Abigail Treadway of Edmond. Peggy also leaves her brother Bobby Wegmiller of Enid, several nieces and nephews, and an angel band of loving friends. In her last days, Peggy received wonderful loving care from Companion Healthcare and Hospice in her daughter"s home. A service will be held at the Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (www.curepc.org ) for pancreatic cancer research.
