Ronald Robert Sherman

December 18, 1945 - April 5, 2020

TSGT. Ronald Robert Sherman Sr. (retired)
Born December 18, 1945, to Edgar Lee and Myrtle Irene (Arnold) Sherman in Cherokee, OK. Upon graduating from Burlington High School and enlisted in the Air Force where he was a mechanic for many years. While in training, at Chanute AFB, IL he met Dixie Lee Jarm at a dance and was instantly smitten! Ron and Dixie married June 3, 1967 and made their home at Altus AFB, OK. From there they went to Kadina AFB, Okinawa, Maxwell AFB, AL and finally retiring at Tinker AFB, OK and made their home in Midwest City, OK. Along the journey they had two children, Joy and Ronald Jr. "Robbie."
Ron and Dixie were active at the Base Chapel with the retirees group, PWOC, he served as an usher at the base chapel, choir, etc. Ron and Dixie both graduated from Rose State College in 1989 where he earned an Associate's Degree in Engineering with a minor in Computers. After retiring Ron worked some different jobs but his main job was with Office Depot in Midwest City.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dixie; his parents, Edgar and Myrtle Sherman; sister, Sharon K. Lewis; and a host of aunts and uncles. He is survived by daughter, Joy Daniels of OKC and a son, Robbie of Del City, OK, grandchildren Brittaney Tourigny and husband, Joel; Tiffaney Chilton; Kelsey Dunn and husband, Matthew; Edward Bradley Smith-Sherman and Victoria Sherman; as well as a Great Granddaughter, Kharis Tourigny.
