Imogene Sardis
January 28, 1927 - November 22, 2020
Imogene was born January 28, 1927 to Robert and Ethel Prock in Cedars, OK. She graduated from Wilburton High School and married James Sardis in 1946 after the War. Eventually, after living in McAlester, Ada, and Tishomingo, OK James and Imogene settled in Midwest City, OK, and were married for 52 years until James’ death in 1998. Imogene is preceded in death by her husband James Sardis, her parents Ethel and Robert Prock, sisters Mildred Prock and Irene Bahr, brothers Jack Prock, Lester Prock, Brutus Prock, Frank Prock, Floyd Prock, and Bill Prock, and nephew Jerry Prock. Imogene is survived by her three children; Glenda Holden, Tony Sardis, and Tim Sardis and wife Lisa, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, her brother Jim Prock, and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Through the years, Imogene has enjoyed attending various sporting and other events involving her children and grandchildren. Her primary interests have always been her family and church. Sunday dinner at James and Imogene’s after church was a family tradition for decades. She has attended ladies’ Bible class for many years; and has throughout her adult life had a deep understanding and knowledge of the scriptures. She has consistently tried to pass this knowledge along to her family. She attended Ridgecrest church of Christ for over 50 years before moving to Edmond in 2009 to be closer to family. Since 2009 Imogene has been a faithful member of Memorial Road church of Christ. She was a member of Oklahoma Christian Women’s Association for many years, and volunteered her time through the decades in various endeavors helping to raise money for what was then known as Oklahoma Christian College and is now OC. Imogene is an OU fan and loves watching OU football games. One of the fondest memories is the Thanksgiving Day game versus Nebraska in 1971. Though the Sooners lost that game in what would become known as the Game of the Century, it has always been a vivid Thanksgiving Day memory for Imogene and her family.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Touchmark in Edmond for the care given to our mother for the past five years. There are too many to name; but please know that the family appreciates your dedication to the residents under your care.
Viewing will be at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 25th. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 2nd at Arlington Memory Gardens at 3400 N. Midwest Boulevard, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Memorial donations may be made in Imogene’s name to the Oklahoma Christian Women’s Association (OCWA) or The Christian Chronicle.
