Ruby Jo Ross

July 4, 2009

Ruby Jo Ross, 96, of Oklahoma City passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at her home. She was born May 10, 1913 in Star City, Arkansas to Charles Clowers and Lula (Morgan). As fate would have it, she met and married Eugene Ross and made a home in OKC. Ruby was especially proud of her husband and being the wife of a P.O.W. Her faith in God never wavered, as she was a devout Christian woman and a loyal member of Dickson Baptist Church. Ruby retired from T.A.F.B. after many years of service. She was skilled at handwork including crocheting and knitting as well as an accomplished poet and writer. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Ross; brother, Freddy Manice and sister, Dorothy Matthews. She is survived by her son, Don Ross and his wife Claudia; 3 grandchildren: Joe Don, Peggy and Claudita; 3 great-grandchildren: J.D., Bridgett and Stacy along with a host of other relatives and dear friends including her caregiver, Dorothy Carter. Services for Ruby will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
