Maudie Eldean Posey

January 31, 1935 - August 31, 2012

January 31, 1935 " August 31, 2012 Maudie "Eldean" Posey, 77, of Choctaw, born January 31,1935 in Leslie, AR to Cecil & Ola Caid, passed away surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice Quality In-Patient Facility of Midwest City on Friday, August 31, 2012. Eldean moved to Mountain View, OK at the age of 10 and graduated from Mountain View High School before marrying, her high school sweetheart, Bobby Joe Posey on August 23, 1942. She attended college in Chickasha, OK but Bob came by and said "I'm headed to a job in Wichita are you coming with me" and the rest is history. Eldean gave birth to 4 children in the short span of 4 years and 1 day. She enjoyed the many roles she served including wife and mother. She and Bob eventually moved to Liberal, KS where she raised her kids. In 1994, she and her husband relocated to Choctaw, OK to be closer to their kids and grandchildren. Eldean took pride in raising her kids and truly enjoyed her time spent with grandchildren, a great-grandson as well as numerous others who enjoyed the label of "adopted family." Eldean enjoyed many interests throughout her life including oil painting, cooking, sewing, gardening, bird watching in the breakfast nook, and a host of other activities. She also enjoyed her church and church family. She always looked forward to serving in roles at the church including their military care-package program and the benevolence committee. Eldean was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Wilbur Caid and Lester Caid . She is survived by her husband, Bob Posey, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Belinda Posey and Dianna & Mark Johnson, 2 sons, Gregory Posey, Kendel Posey and partner David John, 2 granddaughters, Caitlin Johnson and Lauren Johnson, 1 great-grandson, Kyle Johnson, 3 sisters, Veda McBride, Lillian Perkins and Demo Lee Whiddon, 1 brother, Russell Caid, numerous nieces, nephews and numerous other friends, family and "adopted family." Family will gather to meet with friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery followed with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Soldier Creek Baptist Church.
