Walter Edward Pittman

June 22, 1931 - December 9, 2013

Pittman, Walter Edward (Taz) 82, of Midwest City, OK passed away on December 8th. The son of Sidney L. and Flossie M. Pittman, he was born June 22, 1931 in Red Oak, NC. Preceded in death by his heart and soul of 55 years, Nobuko Pittman, his parents, his 3 brothers, 1 sister and his oldest son James Pittman. He is survived by his son Robert and wife Joyce Pittman, daughters Barbara Jarrell, Carol Pittman, daughter in law Levona Pittman, son in laws Nick Inge and Mike Jarrell, 7 nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. As a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran, after 25 devoted years, he retired from the Air Force, permanently settling in MWC where he worked at Tinker AFB another 20 years. A member of the Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, Walter was a "gentle giant" that loved his wife, family and friends. Kind, compassionate, witty and full of life, Walter took pride in finding a smile for anyone. Services will be held Friday December 13 at 2 pm at Barnes and Friederich Funeral Home in MWC.
