Nobuko Onuma Pittman

August 30, 1933 - January 24, 2008

Nobuko (June) Onuma, 74 of Midwest City, was called home on January 24, 2008. She was born on August 30, 1933 in Odimari, Karafto, Japan (aka Sakhalin, Russia) to Nobuo and Chio Onuma. A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She was the consummate veterans wife. She was and remains far more than a wife and mother, she was the best friend a husband, son or daughter could ever ask for. Nobuko may be gone but her indelible legacy is her gentle strength, character and infectious smile that she touched everyone with. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, 2 brothers and 1 sister of Hokkaido, Japan. She has left behind her Husband of 56 years, Walter E., sister Noriko Onuma of Japan, son's James of Midwest City, Robert and wife Joyce of Nicoma Park, daughters Barbara Jarrell of Moore, Carol of Okc. Other family members: Vona Pittman of Irving, Nick Inge of Del City, Mike Jarrell of MWC. 9 grandchildren, Nichole Wyskup, Tiffany Thronsberry, Brandon, Ryan Derek, Corey and Desiree Pittman, Brittany and Sean Jarrell as well as 7 great grandchildren. Her life celebration will be held Monday, Jan 28, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
