Delia Oneta Echols Palone

May 27, 1934 - April 29, 2014

Delia Oneta "Neta" Palone, 79, passed away on April 29, 2014. Neta was born on May 27, 1934 in Muskogee, OK to James O. and Nancy (Jones) Echols.
Neta worked for the Muskogee Phoenix where she met her husband Gene. They were married April 20, 1956 and had just recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. The railroad took the Palones to St. Louis briefly in 1964 and 65 but the family settled in Del City, OK where they have resided since 1965. After a few years working at the Oklahoma Publishing Company, Neta decided to spend more time with her sons and began working at Kerr Junior High School. She was a beloved secretary until her retirement in 1992. She spent her years with friends and family and serving others.
Neta was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Don Echols. Survivors include her loving husband, Gene; sons, Tim Palone, Brenda and Jim Palone (Vicki); grandchildren, Keri Day, Camerone Palone, Brandon Palone (Michelle), Kaitlyn Palone (Jon Hicks), Jonathan, Leah and Zachary Palone; great-grandchildren, Jaquelyne and Olivia Day, Braxton and Cale Palone.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Meadowood Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens. She enjoyed Reading, working in her flower garden, card games and her JOY group at church. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
