Charles F. Muecke

Dr. Charles F. 'Doc' Muecke, 91, died Monday, February 18, 2008 in Norman, OK. He was born September 9, 1916 in Westhoff, TX. He was the only child of Charles Fredrick & Maggie Claire (Martin) Muecke. He graduated from high school in 1934 in Rosebud, TX. He attended San Marcos College (then Southwest Texas State Teacher College). He went on to graduate in 1940 from the Kirksville College of Osteopathy & Surgery in Missouri. Charles practiced in Pratt, KS, with his uncle before going into the military. He served in the Air Force as a Corporal from 1942-1945. While serving in Oklahoma City, he met Doris Pauline Moore and they were wed on May 15, 1945. They moved to Kingman, KS where he continued to practice medicine. In 1947 they moved to Midwest City, OK where he established a private practice specializing in Pediatrics & Family Medicine. Doc was ahead of his time professionally speaking, promoting nutrition and healthy lifestyles to his patients, encouraging a preventative approach to health problems. His practice was also his ministry as he devoted himself to his patients for their total healthcare needs. He retired from practice around 1990. He lived the last ten years of his life in Norman with his daughter Nancy and her family. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 37 years. He is survived by son Bill Muecke (H.S. Naim) and son Gus & wife Marilyn Muecke, all of McKinney, TX; daughter Nancy & husband Gene Peavler of Norman, OK; son Mike & wife Maxine Muecke and daughter Charlene Lock, all of Midwest City, OK; and daughter Georgia & husband Alan Myrick of Edmond, OK; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at Barnes and Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City, OK, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Casket bearers will be Bill Muecke (H.S. Naim), Gus Muecke, Mike Muecke, Gene Peavler, Alan Myrick, Michael Muecke, Justin Peavler, Al Lock, Bryan Myrick and Brandon Myrick. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
